Mformation vs. RIM

2008年行動裝置管理公司Mformation Technologies與Research in Motion Limited(RIM)在進行專利授權談判時，把無線裝置遠端管理技術的細節透露給RIM，而談判觸礁後，RIM卻修改軟體將該技術用於伺服器軟體BES，Mformation於2008.10.31.向加州北區地方法院控告RIM侵害該公司2項專利。2012.7.13.舊金山聯邦法院陪審團裁定RIM侵權，損害賠償金計算，係依據RIM在1,840萬台黑莓機內建BES軟體，以US元/台計算權利金，總計需支付US.472億元。
