繼螢幕滑動解鎖的專利之後，Apple又想到一個新螢幕解鎖方式，它可以讓使用者選用數張圖片，Apple的裝置會隨機顯示其中一張，使用者只在解鎖時按下與圖片相應的資訊即可解鎖。例如

可能顯示一張大頭照，接著再提供一串姓名，使用者只要選擇影中人的姓名即可解鎖。
這個解鎖方法跟以前比，使用者可以不需要記憶任何密碼或是解鎖軌跡，可以提供較為安全的解鎖方式。

Techniques for authenticating a user of a computing
device (e.g., handheld, desktop, laptop) are provided. In order to grant access
to any of the services provided by the computing device, the computing device
displays, to the user, one or more images that are stored on the computing
device. The user is required to accurately identify one or more objects depicted
in the one or more images in order to gain access to the computing device. The
computing device is not required to be connected to any network at the time of
authentication. Authentication data that is associated with object(s) in each
displayed image may have been established previously by another computing device
and then provided to the computing device.
